Demolition, site work and renovation of a municipal facility in Biddeford, Maine. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for the renovation of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
The following specifications are intended to be a brief guide for the general requirements and materials needed for the proposed project, and are offered primarily for bidding purposes. The project focuses on demo and renovations to existing bathroom and single shower stall in the men's locker room. The building was built in 1986 and has limited bathroom space for employees. The department will analyze and select the bidder that best meets the needs of the Public Works Department within 60 days after bid opening date. Demo existing walls, plumbing, heating unit and electrical fixtures as needed to remodel and construct (3) self-flushing toilets and stalls, (2) self-flushing urinals with dividers and a single shower. Frame new walls as needed and ready for mechanicals. Install all rough and finish drainage, venting in schedule 40 PVC. All penetrations in concrete and walls shall be fire caulked per code. Install drywall, prime and paint two coats on all walls. Install new commercial grade double vanity sink with turn off and on sensors.Install solid core composite doors with new hardware and trim. Apply primer and two coats of paint. Remove existing suspended ceiling grid and tiles as needed and replace with new suspended ceiling to match as close as possible to existing. Remove existing flooring and replace with new tile or equal. Install rough and finish electrical to meet code for each bathroom ceiling grid, which shall be switched LED fixtures. City's electrical contractor will take care of all electrical needs throughout this project. Remove old wall mounted heating unit and replace with heat pump in bathroom. Provide and install toilet paper dispensers, soap dispensers and hand dryer unit. Install vinyl cove base molding after flooring is installed. Contractor is responsible for keeping the jobsite in a neat and orderly condition during construction. The building interior shall provide dust protection and be cleaned as best as possible at the end of each workday. B. Contractor is responsible for waste and rubbish removal during construction. The Contractor shall guarantee the work, and work of subcontractors, for a period of time to be agreed upon. D. All work shall conform to all State and Local Codes. A performance bond of 10% of the total cost of the project will be required from the contractor awarded the bid. Bidders shall provide a detailed description of all work to be completed including plans, specifications, standard features, equipment and warranties. Obtain all permits, licenses, design services, two sets of plans etc. required for construction. Evaluate the proposed scope of work and the existing conditions during the Pre-bid walk through to provide an accurate bid and time schedule.Provide all materials and labor necessary to complete the work as indicated on the construction drawings. A licensed, experienced contractor shall provide the expertise and labor to accomplish the fixture reconfiguration proposed on the plans and to see that all work meets the current plumbing codes and ADA guidelines. All materials shall be delivered, stored and handled in such a manner as to prevent damage. City will not be responsible for any lost or damaged items.
