Survey and Inspection Access Equipment and Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Services SAI Consulting Engineers, Inc. has been retained by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to perform a structural inspection of the Glenfield Viaduct (SR 4165) over SR 0065 Southbound, East Beaver Street and Norfolk Southern Railroad in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. The work is anticipated to begin on April 12, 2021 and continue for approximately 4 days with the span over Norfolk Southern Railroad to follow approximately two weeks later on a weekend day. SAI will require the services of a qualified Contractor to provide access equipment, safety equipment, maintenance and protection of traffic (MPT), and other bridge inspection-related equipment and services.Questions should be directed to David Miller, PE, by email at dmiller@saiengr.com. The Contractor must provide evidence of his qualifications by referencing five separate bridge inspection contracts of similar size with multiple bridges and complexity that he provided access equipment, and MPT services within the last ten years. Personal references and contact information for the five previous contracts must be provided along with this proposal. The Contractor must be able to provide under-bridge access equipment of various sizes, bucket trucks, lift platforms, and safety equipment and other equipment in good working order, along with properly trained and competent equipment operators. The contractor must provide MPT in strict accordance with PennDOT Publication 213. Multiple equipment and MPT setups on the same bridge may be required at the same time along with weekend inspection work.
