**As of 9/9/2021 This project has not yet been awarded . The Trustees of The California State University are requesting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from interested and qualified design-builders (Respondents) to design and build the above-named Project. The Trustees will select a design-build team consisting of a general contractor and architect (Design-Builder) using a two-step process: (1) this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) from which Respondents may submit SOQ to the Trustees, and (2) the Request for Proposals (RFP) which the Trustees will issue to the shortlisted firms. In general, the scope of work consists of the design and construction, under a procedure more commonly referred to as turnkey construction, of a Building Fire Safety System Upgrades, for the Cain Library as base bid and SBS Building Fire System Upgrades as alternate. The Project includes: The project consists of providing fire sprinklers and fire protection systems in one existing building in the base bid scope of work, namely, the Leo F. Cain Library. The Social and Behavior Sciences (SBS) building, will be an alternate, for pricing purposes. The Cain Library is a five-story building built in 1972 and of noncombustible (concrete construction. The building has faculty offices, conference rooms, classrooms, and some student services. The alternative is the SBS building, a three-story building built in 1972, of noncombustible (concrete) construction. The building has classrooms, labs, and faculty offices In the base Bid, the Cain Library shall be provided with a new multiplex, fully addressable fire alarm and detection system including an emergency voice/alarm communication system. The SBS building will be provided with a system as an alternate.
