Questions and clarifications will be accepted VIA EMAIL ONLY TO: disposals@phila.gov up to 5:00 P.M. on 3/18/20. The Water Meters contained in this bid are being offered for sale as scrap metal. The major metal component is classified as Red Brass: however, there are lesser amounts of other metals and plastic. Note: At times other non related scrap brass items may be deposited into container used for scrapped meters. The Awarded bidder shall be required to execute the conditions of bidding and sale. The contract shall grant the privileges described in these Bid Specifications for an initial term of one year beginning April 1, 2021 and ending March 31, 2022 with the City's option to extend the contract for up to one (1) additional year. The City reserves the right to rebid the contract for greater revenue return before exercising its extension option. Failure of awarded bidder to maintain placement/removal of containers and/or failure to submit payment in a a timely manner will result in termination of the contract. A $1000.00 Bid Security, in the form of a Certified Check or U.S. Postal Money Order, payable to the City of Philadelphia, is required with a positive bid return. The bid security of the awarded contractor shall be held until completion of this contract.
