Demolition, site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Burnaby, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; for the construction of a 37,512-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility; and day care center.
Construction of a new elementary school (full replacement) to be located on the existing Stride Avenue Community School site, located at 7014 Stride Avenue, Burnaby. It is proposed that the new school will be constructed to the South of the existing school on the existing parking lot. The new school is to accommodate 375 grade 1-7 student and 40 kindergarten students. Total area of the school is 3,115 m2, plus 467 m2 for a Neighbourhood Learning Centre area and 169m2 for a Childcare Centre for a total area of 3,751 m2. TIMELINE: Construction is underway. *Project delivery method for the construction of the new school will be Design-Bid-Build, with Construction Management being utilized for the demolition and associated site work. Maximum Potential Cost Including Reserves: $ 27,667,693 Total Project Costs Excluding Reserves: $ 18,110,603.
