The project was awarded to Pine Valley Corporation for $603,804.20. Contractor's Scope of work is to complete the removal of existing concrete wash pad, push wall and associated underground drainage, and contraction of new concrete wash pad, concrete push wall, underground drainage systems including electrical and mechanical equipment, and the installation of a new heated incoming water service enclosure and hose bib for truck washing as per the contract drawings and specifications at the Bermondsey Works Yard to meet the city's long-term operational needs and to minimize interference with operation of the works yard during construction to a degree acceptable to the City. In general, the scope comprises the provision of the following: 1. Remove and dispose (off-site) of existing concrete, steel, asphalt and granular materials associated with the existing concrete wash pad, concrete all and underground drainage system. 2. Provision of a temporary wash pad complete with sanitary drainage and water service connection to the existing service lines. 3. Supply and install a new sanitary drainage system including new double catchbasin and associated catchbasin filter, control manhole and actuated valve system, new oil grit separator and connections to existing sanitary manhole located to the north-east of the new wash pad. 4. Supply and installation of new storm sewer bypass system including new storm drainage piping and drop manhole connection to the existing storm sewer system. 5. Modification to existing incoming water servicing including installation of a new slab on grade supported heated enclosure complete with new 50mm water service entry including water meter and by-pass. 6. Extension of electrical services from existing exterior electrical distribution kiosk to new heated enclosure for water service and to rain gauge/controller and actuators for control value located in the control manhole. 7. Supply and installation of new granular, concrete and asphalt materials to supply new concrete wash pad and push wall system, including blending of asphalt grades from the new wash pad to the surrounding asphalt parking lot surface.
