Rehabilitation of Luminous Veil pedestrian barrier along span four (4) (over the Don River), of the Prince Edward Viaduct (Don Section). The work will include repair, strengthening and rehabilitation work inside the barrier and bridge Right-of-Way including: Installation of temporary sliding washers at barrier beam (V-Truss) connection in specified locations. Retorquing of steel studs at V-Truss connection to a fixed condition. Installation new sliding plate connections at specified locations. Re-tension vertical tension rod arrays to a specified tension. Verification of tension required. Repair of loose and stripped connections at wooden pedestrian handrail. Work outside the barrier and the Bloor St. Right-of-Way: Re-tension lateral cable bracing system. Damaged/deteriorated galvanizing layer removal and recoating. Pressure wash cleaning of below deck anchoring steel. Installation of Base Anchor Assembly drip and surface runoff protection systems. Investigation of vertical/wall mounted grout pad condition. Forming and dry-pack grouting of vertical/wall mounted grout pads behind baseplates. Permitting requirements are outlined herein. Lane closure is needed to perform above tasks, including:Supply, installation, maintenance and removal of all traffic control components (signs, barricades, fences, barriers, delineators, pavement markings, flaggers, etc.) to facilitate bridge closure and/or accommodate safe passage of vehicular, cyclists and pedestrian passage as required during all stages of construction; Supply, installation, maintenance and removal of all measures necessary to protect the public, utilities, site personnel, vehicles, equipment, existing structures, property and the environment from damage and/or injury that could result from the work of this Contract; Delivery Schedule for Goods or Services OR Contract Duration: 107 Calendar Day The Bidder must have successfully completed as the General Contractor as defined in the Construction Act two (2) bridge and/or steel structure projects with each project value in excess of $300,000.00 (Canadian dollars, excluding HST) in the last five (5) years OR an aggregate value of $1,000,000.00 (Canadian dollars, excluding HST) total in the last five (5) years (with no individual project less than $150,000.00 (Canadian dollars, excluding HST), involving bridge or steel structure rehabilitation/improvement work in Canada.
