Renovation of a military facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
**This project has been awarded to DMT Electric. ** The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) has a requirement for a fire detection system to be installed into a material storage locker located on the Technical Evaluation Assessment Management Site (TEAMS), at Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB), New Mexico, by 30 July 2021. The locker is an approximately 20 feet by 30 feet outdoor metal container with power and HVAC system. There is currently no fire detection system in the locker but an old fire detection system is installed in a nearby building. The following defines the specifications and requirements for the system and installation. The site has a Honeywell Fire Detection system in the nearby Site Manager's Administrative Building. However, the current Honeywell Fire Detection system is obsolete and must be replaced. The panel is obsolete due to the fact that KAFB doesn't support the system anymore and has decided to upgrade all the systems to a Monaco Fire Detection System. Therefore, the current Honeywell system must be removed and replaced with a Monaco Fire Detection System. The fire detection system must communicate with the KAFB Fire Department. This is done through a phone line currently in the Site Manager's Building. There is power to the detection system via the power in the building. Directly adjacent to the Site Manager's Administrative Building is a test asset with various conduit running underneath. Some of the conduit may be used to connect the administrative building to the material storage locker. Additionally, some wiring in the administrative building should be inspected and may be used, if acceptable. Any existing conduit and wire should be inspected for possible reuse, and if applicable, any wire faults repaired or replaced. Base Fire Department approval is required for all as-built shop drawings of placement and new repairs to the fire alarm system. This is critical to ensure the fire system meets the base requirements and connects to their alarm network. In addition to the drawings, all required base and project permits must be submitted to KAFB and DTRA for approval, in advance of the work. Potential sources having the existing capability necessary to assist DTRA in satisfying the above requirements are invited to provide information demonstrating their capabilities. Information submitted should detail the organization's experience and expertise in the areas identified above, to include details regarding potential key personnel and their qualifications. Responses shall also include the following information: company name, address, point of contact, telephone number, email address, business size and small business status (if applicable), teaming partners and/or major subcontractors. It is requested that capability statements be limited to ten pages in length (10 page limit does not include title/cover page, table of content, or glossaries) using a font no less than Times New Roman, 12 point. Please submit responses (e-mail only), no later than April 15, 2021 to herbert.a.thompson8.civ@mail.mil. This synopsis is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a request for proposal, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the government. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
