The project consists of removing and replacing the existing storm drainage system where the system daylights, located in the north east corner of the site. The project includes removal and replacement of approximately 140 LF of storm drain pipe, the addition of approximately 400 LF of storm drain pipe and the addition of 9 drainage structures, clearing and grubbing, seeding and mulching, including all materials and appurtenances and other related work as described in the Specifications, Drawings, and Contract Documents Each proposal must be accompanied by a cash deposit or certified check drawn on a bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation payable to Gaston County Schools in the amount of five percent (5%) of the gross amount of the bid or in lieu thereof a bidder may offer a bid bond of five percent (5%) of the bid executed by a surety company licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute such bonds, conditioned that the surety will upon demand forthwith make payment to the oblige upon said bond if the bidder fails to execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond. Said deposit shall be retained by the Owner as liquidated damages in the event of failure of the successful bidder to execute the contract within ten days after the award or to give satisfactory surety as required by law No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of 60 days. All bidders must be properly licensed under applicable laws of the State of North Carolina, at the time of bid submittal. The Contractor shall comply with the Department of Labor Safety and Health Regulations for construction promulgated under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (PL91-596) and under Section 107 of the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act (PL91-54), or latest revisions.
