The work includes the construction of approximately: Mobilization 1 LS Asphalt Street Patching 1000 SY Traffic Control 1 LS Boring Pit 6 EA 16" Min. Tunnel by Pilot Tube Microtunneling 1625 LF Const. Manhole (Sanitary) 95 LF 8" PVC C900 Carrier Pipe Installation 1625 LF Dewatering 1 LS 8" PVC C900 Open Cut Sanitary Sewer 205 LF Work shall commence upon approval of the contract by the Board of Trustees and as stated in the Notice to Proceed. All work under the Contract must be complete by August 13, 2021. By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa, to the extent lawfully required under Iowa statutes. The bidder shall not include sales tax in the bid. The Iowa Great Lakes Sanitary District will distribute tax exemption certificates and authorization letters to the Contractor and all subcontractors who are identified. The Contractor and subcontractor may make copies of the tax exemption certificates and provide a copy to each supplier providing construction materials. These tax exemption certificates and authorization letters are applicable only for this specific project under the Contract. The results will be reported to the Iowa Great Lakes Sanitary District at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at which time the Board of Trustees may take action on the proposals submitted or at such time as may then be fixed. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities and informalities therein and to award the Contract to other than the lowest bidder if, in their discretion, the interest of the Owner would be best served thereby A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at the time and location indicated in the Advertisement or invitation to bid. Representatives of Owner and Engineer will be present to discuss the Project. Bidders are encouraged to attend and participate in the conference; however, attendance at this conference is not required to submit a Bid. Information presented at the pre-Bid conference does not alter the Contract Documents. Owner will issue Addenda to make any changes to the Contract Documents that result from discussions at the pre-Bid conference. Information presented, and statements made at the pre-bid conference will not be binding or legally effective unless incorporated in an Addendum.
