Site work and paving for a road / highway in Groveport, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

As of June 9, 2021. the project has been awarded with the amount of $$1,581,108.49 The work for which proposals are invited consists of the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment and services necessary for rehabilitation of a portion of Bixby Road, west of SR 317, along with other related roadway improvements and for replacement of the Bixby Road culvert over Holton Ditch and its other related improvements The work for which proposals are invited consists of the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment and services necessary for rehabilitation of a portion of Bixby Road, west of SR 317, along with other related roadway improvements and for replacement of the Bixby Road culvert over Holton Ditch and its other related improvements (the "Project"). Work to include approximately: Base Bid Part 1 - Bixby Road pavement rehabilitation and Path Improvement - Work to be included in the base bid as ordered by the Council of the City of Groveport: 9,700 square yards of roadway pavement rehabilitation utilizing full depth pavement reclamation and applying 3.5 inches of item 441 asphalt concrete, being about 930 Cubic Yards 3,100 feet of an 8-ft wide asphalt paved shared-use path Misc. roadside drainage improvements including drive culverts and underdrains Pedestrian warning system assembly Various pavement striping and signage Part 2 - Bixby Road culvert replacement over Holton Ditch (FRA-CR229-03.45) - Work to be included in the base bid as ordered by the Franklin County Commissioners: improvements to be included, as ordered by the Franklin County Commissioners, consist of upgrading 0.01 miles of Bixby Road by replacing the existing concrete slab culvert over Holton County Ditch with a new 12'x8' 4-sided precast concrete box culvert, with foundation support system and headwalls and minimal roadway approach improvements that support the roadway improvement to be constructed in Part 1 Add/Deduct Alternate Unit prices are requested from the bidder for alternative work for specific pay items in the base bid, as an Add/Deduct Alternate. Work relates to the type of stabilizing agent used in Full Depth Reclamation In order to be considered, Contractors shall submit bids on both the Base bid and Add/Deduct Alternate bid. Hard copies of the Contract Document and Specifications will not be provided. Contract Documents and Specifications shall be obtained from Bid Express only and at costs associated with the Bid Express service fee schedule. Payment of these items will not be refunded. The bids will be evaluated and the Contract will, if let, be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, as determined at the sole discretion of the City of Groveport, and may or may not include the bid for Add/deduct Alternate. Bidders shall fully complete the bid proposal forms and provide bids for both the Base Bid and Add/Deduct Alternate. The Bidder will be required to state in full detail, with his Proposal, his experience in this class of work; bids from contractors inexperienced in this particular class of work will not be considered. Moreover, in order to be considered for the contract, the contractor performing the Part 2 Culvert replacement is required to be pre-qualified with the Ohio Department of Transportation for all work related to the Part 2 improvement. Evidence of such current ODOT prequalification shall be included with the bid proposal. Each bid shall contain the full name and address of each person or company interested in the same and shall be accompanied by a bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the bid, or by a certified check, cashier's check or irrevocable letter of credit for ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to the City of Groveport, Ohio, conditioned that if the bid is accepted a Contract will be entered into within 10 days after notice of acceptance. A Performance Bond of One Hundred Percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract with a satisfactory surety company, conditioned according to law, will be required for the faithful performance of the Contract. Each Bidder must insure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, Vietnam Era nor disabled veterans, or National origin. Schedule: The work shall commence within ten (10) calendar days after issuing of the Notice to Proceed, and must be completed within one hundred eighty (180) calendar days after the issuance date of the Notice to Proceed, time being of the essence to the City of Groveport, Ohio. The project has additional intermediate milestone dates that are fully described in the supplemental specifications within the contract documents. This project requires payment of prevailing wages to all workers during the course of construction activities. Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on public improvements in Franklin County and the City of Groveport, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, Wage and Hour Division, (614) 644-2239. Prospective bidders shall take into account State of Ohio prevailing wage rates in preparing bids. The City of Groveport, Ohio, reserves the right to reject any and all bids, including all bids which, in the opinion of the Engineer, show evidence of unbalancing prices, and also to waive technical defects as the interest of the City may require. Contract Bond, Payment Bond, or Performance Bond: A Bond of 100% of the amount of the Contract, with a satisfactory surety or sureties, is required for the faithful performance of the work. PROJECT 2021-03 AEP has existing poles and aerial facilities within the work limits of the project. These poles will be removed and relocated. AEP expects the work to be completed by June 1, 2021.
