General. The Fairfax County Water Authority (“Fairfax Water”) will be accepting Qualification Statements from interested contractors for the performance as a general contractor for the DULLES TOLL ROAD CROSSING AT INNOVATION CENTER PROJECT (the “Project”) as described in Section B of this Notice. The submission of bids for this Project will be limited to those contractors who have been prequalified pursuant to this Request for Qualifications No. 21-022 Project Description. The Project includes, in general terms, the following items of work: (i) installation of new 24-inch, 16-inch, and 12-inch ductile iron water mains and associated connections to existing water mains; (ii) installation of a 54-inch trenchless crossing; (iii) installation of corrosion control measures including polyethylene encasement, bonded joints, and test stations; (iv) installation of water main related appurtenances (valves, hydrants, and air releases); (v) restoration (asphalt pavement and milling, concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalks, landscaping, and seeding and fertilizing); and (vi) performance of other miscellaneous water main related construction activities.
