Site work and renovation of a parking garage in Westwood, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a four-story above grade parking garage; and for site work for a parking garage.
Work consists of the following: Repairs and egress upgrades to the MBTA Route 128 Garage, a four-story structure with a structural steel framing system and precast concrete double tee floors. The garage has 3 supported levels. The repair work includes, but is not limited to, partial and full depth concrete deck repairs including shear connector repairs, application of waterproofing membrane and silane sealer, replacement of joint sealant, replacement of expansion joints, selective replacement of floor drains and plumbing piping, replacement of existing light fixtures and selective conduit replacement, and replacement of control panel and transformer in the emergency electric room. Additionally, the work consists of accessibility and egress upgrades that includes, but is not limited to, a new exterior four-story steel framed stair tower, replacement of existing stair railings, accessibility and egress striping and signage, modifications to the accessible entrance, and a new headhouse at Stair #2. Bidders attention is directed to Appendix 1, Notice of Requirement for Affirmative Action to Insure Equal Employment Opportunity; and to Appendix 2, Supplemental Equal Employment Opportunity, AntiDiscrimination, and Affirmative Action Program in the specifications. While there is no DBE goal associated with this contract, the Authority strongly encourages the use of Minority, Women and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises as prime contractors, subcontractors and suppliers in all of its contracting opportunities. Bidders will affirmatively ensure that in regard to any contract entered into pursuant to this solicitation, minority and female construction contractors will be afforded full opportunity to submit Bids and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, sex, age, or national origin in consideration for an award. Bidders will be required to comply with Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Regulations and the President's Executive Order No. 11246 and any amendments or supplements thereto. Bidders will also be required to comply with the Governor's Executive Order No. 481, prohibiting the use of undocumented workers on State Contracts and any amendments and supplements thereto. Bidders are advised that they should have representation at this tour as no extra visits are planned. All attendees are required to provide a completed "COVID-19 Self Certification Form" included at the end of Section 00200 Instructions to Bidders at the site visit. Questions are to be submitted no later ten (10) days prior to the date set for the opening of bids. Bidders will be required to certify as part of their bids that they are able to furnish labor that can work in harmony with all other elements of labor employed or to be employed on the work. This Contract is subject to minimum State wage rates as well as all other applicable labor laws. Bid Guaranty shall consist of a bid deposit in the amount of five (5) percent of the value of the bid, in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, treasurer's or cashier's check. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond each for the full amount of the Contract price. The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive informalities, to advertise for new Bids or proceed to do the work otherwise, as may be deemed to be in the best interests of the Authority MBTA PLAN NO. 322381
