Description of Scope
The Successful Bidder will be responsible for the completion of the following work scope items:
The base bid includes several MEP improvement items at Dunn's
Corners Elementary and Westerly High School:
Dunn's Corners Elementary, the work includes but is not limited to:
o Provide central exhaust system to service classrooms with
associated electrical and architectural work.
At Westerly High School at the Ward Building, the work includes but is not limited to:
o Provide make-up air unit and ductwork distribution for kitchen hood.
o Relocate exhaust fans too close to intakes.
o Remove two (2) heating only RTU's and replace with new HVAC RTU's at media center roof.
o Replace Administration/Faculty Offices RTU.
o Replace RTU serving special education classroom with new ductwork distribution and ACT ceilings
o Replace two (2) RTUs at Gymnasium
o Associated plumbing, electrical, structural, and architectural work.
The Bid Documents include three (3) alternates which may be incorporated into the work. These alternates include:
Alternate No. 1 - Babcock Hall F&I new domestic water booster system and expansion tank in mechanical room to match existing system in the science wing. The new booster system is to connect to existing main discharge.
Alternate No.2 - Westerly Middle SchoolRemove existing R/U unit above Room 111 with R/U unit at existing roof
curb. New unit to connect to existing ductwork distribution.
Alternate No.3 - Dunn's Corners Elementary School
Remove and dispose ACT ceilings in classroom corridors on the first and second floors and replace with new 2x2 ACT ceiling system.
Basis of design - Armstrong school zone fine fissured 1820 (.70NRC). All ceiling mounted items including but not limited to lighting fixtures, heat detectors, speakers are to be removed, salvaged, and protected during the construction for reinstall after work is complete. Questions regarding this solicitation must be emailed and received by the Purchasing Agent at mbednarski@westerlyri.gov no later than Monday, December 20, 2021, in a Microsoft Word attachment with the corresponding solicitation number. The Town of Westerly/Westerly Schools reserves the right to reject any/all bids, waive any informalities in the bids received and to accept and award the bid to the lowest evaluated bid deemed most favorable to the interest of the Town/School.
