Structural repair and improvement of existing barn structure located at the historic Taylor Bray Farm site. The work for this project consists of the structural repairs and improvements of the existing bam structure located at the historic Taylor-Bray Farm. Please see the General requirements for more information. Town meeting funding will be requested at the May 22, 2021 Town meeting. The Project consists of the structural repair and improvement of the existing barn structure located at the historic Taylor-Bray Farm. The project base bid includes the construction of a new cast in place concrete foundation to replace the existing failed masonry foundation system, sill repairs, wood column repairs, and new first floor deck structure. Bid Alternates include augmentation of the existing roof structural wood framing, wood cedar siding & trim replacement, roofing and window repairs. The General Construction Contract of this project will include all site, structural, foundation, building envelope, roofing and siding components and any related site utility disconnect, reconnection and reinstallation of utilities and equipment serving the building as part of this project work scope. The project site work area is limited to the area generally surrounding the existing building and access to it. Due to archeological resources located at the existing site, certain areas in the vicinity of the site locus are restricted to disturbances, particularly in the area to the west, between the existing flag pole and barn building.
