As examples of development actions over a ten-year horizon, note the development of the Cosmos footbridge, a major element of the proposal. At the same time green corridor, pedestrian bridge and public square, it will constitute the main pedestrian link between the two islands. In addition, upgrades to the Place des Nations including the development a large river promenade with a length of 900 meters occupying the area of the former P8 parking lot will be made up of a pedestrian axis structuring between the landing stage of the St. Helena Island river shuttle, the Plaine des Jeux and Mount Boullé. Also, behind the Canada pavilion, the former site of the Théâtre des Lilas dating from Expo 67 will be redeveloped with the reinstallation of navigable canals. A multifunctional reception and mobility center will also be developed through the elimination of the majority of parking spaces and the elimination of vehicle traffic. Finally, the development of filter marshes will be part of a landscape continuity with the development entities of the Jean-Doré park-beach and the bank of the bends. TIMELINE: The program will be implemented by construction packages. The owner has awarded an architectural professional consultant for design of the first construction package that is now followed in the report under CRM ID name Place des Nations Sector Rehabilitation Project. The owner continue working on finalization of the overall project scope and phasing and expects to proceed to the design of subsequent construction phases in 2024.
