Renovation of a mixed-use development in Chicago, Illinois. Design plans call for the renovation of a laboratory facility.

As of May 23 2022, an engineer has been selected for the project. A firm timeline for bids and construction has not been disclosed. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Professional liability insurance required: $2,000,000 The scope of work provides for removing and replacing the air handling units, various other heating and cooling equipment, distribution pumps, cooling towers, temperature control system, emergency showers, ceiling and floor tiles. The work also includes repairing exit doors, adding a backup heat exchanger for the domestic hot water and replacing all light fixtures, along with related or supporting work. Hazardous materials may be encountered. The A/E will need to determine if any components of this project are eligible for a utility company or other energy grant/rebate and will be responsible for preparing and submitting the grant application if the project qualifies for the rebate. A combined MBE/WBE goal of 20 percent is applicable to the A/E team. Some level of participation from both MBE and WBE firms is required to satisfy this goal (this requires including one or more MBE AND one or more WBE firms on the team). A VBE/PBE goal of 2 percent is applicable to the A/E team. The Illinois Works Jobs Program Act Apprenticeship Initiative will apply to all prevailing wage eligible work performed on this project. The interviews for this project are tentatively scheduled for June 22, 2021.
