Brown County is accepting sealed bids for material and erec tion of a 24' 6" x 40' 0" single span bridge. The bridge is located 14.5 miles north and 0.7 miles west of Johnstown, NE. The bridge is on Fairfield Road and acrosses airfield Creek in the Southeast quarter of Section 31, Township 33 North, Range 23 West. The new bridge superstructure shall be designed to an HL-93 Load Rating. Each abutment shall consist of five H-Pile (HP10x42) with an estimated length of 40'-0". A test pile shall be driven at each abutment into by the Brown County Board to determine the bearing length to support the superstructure dead load and live loads. The upstream and downstream wings at both abutments are to be 9'-9" long and on will be supported with one H-Pile or (HP8x36) 25'-0" long. The sheet pile used in the abutment back walls and wings shall be a minimum of 5 gauge thick with a minimum length 4, of 26'. The AASHTOWare Bridge Rating (BrR) software program shall be used to Load Rate the superstruc- included in the Bridge Load Rating. The contractor will be responsiblefor removal of the existing timber piling and preliminary dirt work for the erection of the abutments. Brown County will perform the backfilling and final grading after the bridge construction is complete. The bidder to whom the contract is awarded will be required to submit a payment bond with a corporate surety agent and company in a sum not less than the contract price, pursuant to Neb. Rev. Stat. 52 118(1). No contract shall be entered of Commissioners until such bond has been made, filed and approved. The superstructure plans and Load Rating shall be signed and. sealed by a professional engineer 4th, licensed in the state of Nebraska. Brown County reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive any informalities.
