The proposed scope of work will include the following: o Removal and replacement of the pumps, valves, electrical and controls for the existing steel lift station. The existing wetwell shall be converted to a submersible pump station with a new top section. A new precast concrete valve vault with new piping shall be installed adjacent to the existing wetwell. o Bypass pumping and coordination with the Electric Utility for a new service will be required. o Removal and replacement of concrete sidewalk, roadway and curb & gutter. o Removal and replacement of the existing control panel at the Columbus / Memorial Lift Station. Bidders must be pre-qualified with the City of Two Rivers within the last year or must be pre-qualified for this work 5 days prior to the bid deadline in accordance with Section 66.0903 of the Wisconsin Statutes. Each bidder must deposit, with his bid, security in the amount of 5% of the maximum bid amount. Bidders must be experienced in municipal construction. Program policy requires all bidders to make good faith efforts to solicit DBEs and allow a reasonable amount of time for DBEs to respond to solicitations whenever they subcontract for construction work, equipment, raw materials or supplies. Award of the contract will be subject to the Federal government's policy of good faith effort for increased use of DBE businesses. A description of the policy and forms to be used are included in specifications. The City of Two Rivers reserves the right to reject any and all bids, for whatever reason, and to waive any informalities in bids or in the bid process.
