The work to be performed under this contract includes the construction of approximately 5,758 LF of 24" DIP gravity sewer main, 70 LF of 8" DIP gravity sewer main, 25 concrete manholes, 1,140 LF of 48" jack and bore, 215 LF steel casing open cut installation, decommissioning of 1 sewer pump station, restoration of all disturbed areas to pre- construction conditions, and all other appurtenances as shown on the drawings or specified within the contract documents as required to complete the project. Bids are legal and binding upon the bidder when submitted. The Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources shall comply with O.C.G.A 36-91-20 as amended for mandatory pre-qualification of prospective bidders. This notice is ONLY for bidders that have already prequalified under the Annual Prequalification of Contractors for Gravity Sanitary Sewer, Subsection Subsection 2 (larger, greater than 12"). Bonding Company should be licensed to do business in Georgia, licensed to do business by the Georgia Secretary of State, authorized to do business in Georgia by the Georgia Insurance Department, listed in the Department of the Treasury's Publication of Companies Holding Certificates of Authority as Acceptable Surety on Federal Bonds and as Acceptable Reinsuring Companies and must have an A.M. Best rating of Z-X or higher. Bidder agrees to complete the Contract awarded within the "allowable calendar days for completion" from the date of the "Notice to Proceed" and he further agrees that the Owner may retain from the monies which may become due the amount of $1,000.00 / $500.00 for each and every day that the completion of the work may be delayed. The County will award the Contract to the lowest "qualified" bidder, subject with the Owner's right to reject any or all bids, to waive technicalities, and to make an award deemed in its best interests. With limited response, Gwinnett County reserves the right to extend the solicitation opening date as appropriate in order to assure a competitive procurement process.
