Site improvements work includes the following activities: .1 Exterior Site Improvements .1 Tipping floor inbound/outbound ramps and haulage lanes ramp i. Installation of helical piles ii. Excavation and removal of existing concrete approach slab and asphalt pavement iii. Construction of new concrete approach slab and grade beams with asphalt topping. .2 Pavements around organics processing facility (OPF) and emergency shower pad i. Route and seal existing surface cracks ii. Mill and overlay existing pavement .2 Interior Site Improvements .1 Tipping floor catch basins i. Removal of four existing catch basins and replace with new cast-in-place concrete catch basins that come with stainless steel liner .2 Tipping floor expansion joint i. Partial removal and replacement of expansion joint .3 Tipping floor local deficiencies i. Localized repair of delaminated concrete at top and underside of tipping floor slab ii. Localized crack repair at top of tipping floor slab .4 Sanitary drains i. Partial removal and replacement of sanitary drains. Construct new PVC sanitary drain pipes including heat tracing, insulation, leaders, connections and support/ hangers. Reconnect new drains to existing sanitary drain lines and prior to the removal of existing. .5 Water supply lines i. Partial replacement of water supply lines. ii. Construct new polyethylene water main and water main fire-service that are encased in concrete and reconnect to existing. Abandon existing upon completion. .3 Contractor to retain geotechnical engineer to administer the geotechnical aspects of the Project and certify the work during construction.
