The work to be completed under this contract consists of switch and Rail Head Profile Corrective Grinding (RHPG) services on number one track, number two track, and the non-storage areas of the center tracks at West Crest, Ferry, and Haddon Interlockings from mile post 0.11 to mile post 14.68. Restoring the rail track profile and removing irregularities from worn tracks using the track precision removal of fatigued metal, restoration of the rail head profile, and removal of rail defects. The Contractor will grind and profile the rail along the entire PATCO line, utilizing a rail grinding vehicle and hand-held grinders to remove steel overflow and imperfections. A total of 29.14 rail miles of track on the mainline will be ground and switch rail grinding shall be performed on every turnout in all thirteen PATCO interlockings and the Camden Yard. The Rail Profile Grinding will be performed within interlocking limits to the extent possible, exclusive of turnouts, using the furnished PATCO templates at the appropriate rail conditions. The Contractor will first perform a complete peak and plow pass of rails prior to grinding and profiling the rail with the PATCO templates.
