As of June 7, 2024, this project is in the design phase. A firm timeline for construction has not been established yet. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Through this request for qualification (RFQ), notice is hereby given that the City of Durham, North Carolina, General Services Department, is seeking a firm to provide professional services for the River Parks Playgrounds project. Anticipated services will include Survey, Architectural, and Engineering Design. The purpose of this project is to survey parks, identify park rezoning opportunities in less flood prone areas, and design new playground areas with ADA accessibility. The selected design firm will be responsible for developing cost estimates, assisting DPR with public engagement, securing Site Plan approval (3 parks), and Floodplain Development permit approval (2 parks; River Forest and Old Farm Road). The goals for this RFQ are 0% Minority/UBE and 6% Women/UBE. The City of Durham reserves the right to reject any and all submittals.
