Contractor Qualification Highway Division The Town of West Springfield invites sealed bids from contractors for a Complete Streets Improvements Project. Proposed work activities include: performing all operations; furnishing all necessary labor, materials and equipment required for the shared path, sidewalks, ramps, crosswalks, pavement milling, hot mix asphalt paving, traffic lights and related work on Park Ave, Park Street, Main Street, Elm Street, Union Street and the Town Common in West Springfield. All work shall be substantially completed by October 31, 2022. Project shall be fully completed by November 30, 2022. No on-street work will be permitted between the dates of September 17, 2021 to October 3, 2021 and September 16, 2022 to October 2, 2022. The proposed design includes complete streets improvements at various intersections in West Springfield. Town Common The project includes the construction of a concrete shared use path to provide an off-street biking route that is comfortable for all ages and abilities. It will include new ADA compliant curb ramps, sidewalk improvements and landscape. Park Street The project includes new ADA compliant curb ramps, sidewalks sections replacement, two new high visibility crosswalks, roadway resurfacing, restriping of travel lanes and curb replacing. Park Avenue The transit stops will be consolidated and the bus stop will be relocated and improved with a turn-out and shelter. New ADA compliant curb ramps, crosswalks improvements, roadway resurfacing, restriping of travel lanes and curb replacing.
