Site work for a water / sewer project in Lake Elsinore, California. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The District is requesting bids for the installation of 1-30" Butterfly Valve as requested by District personnel. The anticipated contract length will be from contract execution until the project completion 1. Material of existing line is C-900. 2. All work shall conform to EVMWD design standards and standard drawings for water. EVMWD Standard Specifications and Drawings is included as a sperate attachment to this IFB. 3. The District will provide all parts and materials for pipeline work. 4. Depth and location of existing underground facilities shall be determined by the contractor by potholing. The contractor shall also contact Underground Service Alert (811) prior to any excavation work. 5. The Contractor shall be responsible for the removal and disposal of asphalt and spoils accumulated during the work. 6. Contractor responsible for repairs of street to meet City of Lake Elsinore requirements. 7. All construction and operation by the contractor shall be in accordance by CALOSHA requirements. Including trench sheeting, shoring & bracing for trenches 8. Protect pipe, joints, lining, and coatings and bed pipe carefully to provide continuous bearing and prevent uneven settlement. Pipe shall be protected against floatation at all times. 9. Contractors shall take adequate precautions to protect existing sidewalks, curbs, pavement, utilities, and other adjoining property and structures. 10.Where applicable safe access to residences and businesses shall be maintained at all times. 11.All excavations and work areas shall be properly signed, lighted and barricaded in accordance with the WATCH Manual. (Work Area Traffic Control Handbook) WATCH manual conforms to the standards and guidance of the CA-MUTCD. 12.The contractor shall undertake its own traffic control measures to ensure compliance with all applicable traffic regulations. Where streets now in use are within or adjacent to the work and or the project site, the contractor shall keep such streets clean and open to vehicular and pedestrian traffic and shall maintain constant access for police, fire, and ambulance services. The contractor shall furnish flagmen when required for the work. 13.The contractor shall be responsible for disinfection of all pipeline fittings with District approval. 14.Contractor shall consider the distinct possibility that the existing water system in line valves will not achieve a 100% closure and may cause water leakage during the repairs. Therefore, the contractor may need to continuously dewater existing water pipelines during the repairs. 15.The contractor shall be familiar with storm water pollution prevention as it relates to construction activities of this type, the contractor may read and understand all requirements for complying with storm water pollution prevention as contained in GENERAL PERMIT ORDER NUMBER 2009-0009-DWQ available online at www.waterboards.ca.gov/stormwaterprogram 16.Also the contractor shall note that compliance with the best management practices may require the use of erosion and sedimentation control procedures outside the limits of immediate construction activity. 17.The district will operate all necessary valves on the existing pipelines to isolate each pipe line section for the contractor to complete the work. 18.The district will be responsible for dewatering the pipeline and any de-chlorination in order to accomplish the work. 19.At the completion of each installation, pipeline trench shall be slurry backfilled shall be in accordance with EVMWD standard drawings W-3, W-9 and the City of Lake Elsinore requirements. 20.The contractor must recess steel traffic plates over the excavation at each installation. The District will provide asphalt street restoration, concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk, and drive approach. Spandrels replacement for which the integrity of any existing structure has been compromised by District trench or facility failure. 21.At the completion of the installations, the contractor shall leave the construction site in a clean, safe condition.
