Site work, paving and outdoor lighting for a playground / park / athletic field in Houston, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; for outdoor lighting for a playground / park / athletic field; and for paving for a playground / park / athletic field.

This is a playground improvement project with lighting and electrical outlets. This also includes expanding a detention area. The project consists of replacing approximately 560 square feet of existing park play area and expanding the play area by approximately 1,600 square feet. The work will include the removal of an existing play structure as well as the relocation of 5 benches. Drainage for the proposed playground area will be provided through 47 Linear feet of perforated PVC underdrain piping which will connect into 48 linear feet of PVC that outfalls into an existing detention pond on site. To accommodate the proposed additional impervious area the existing detention pond will be expanded by 54 cubic yards. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive formalities or irregularities in bidding. In case of lack of clarity in stating prices, the OWNER reserves the right to consider the most advantageous interpretation thereof orreject the Bid. This Section pertains to the earthwork generally consisting of excavation, filling, backfilling and subgrade preparation as required for construction of site retaining alls/structures, slab on grade walks, pavement surfaces, landscaped areas and the general shaping of the site as shown, described or reasonably inferred on the drawings. Subsurface data is available from the Owner. Contractor is urged to carefully analyze the site conditions. Topographic survey is provided by KUO dated August 13, 2012 C. Construction Means, Methods, Techniques, Sequences and Procedures: 1. The Contractor is solely responsible for, and has sole control over, construction means, methods, techniques, sequences and procedures, and for coordinating all portions of the Work. 2. Shoring that is required to complete the Work, is considered a method or technique and is the sole responsibility of the Contractor. If a regulatory agency requires a licensed engineer to design, approve or provide drawings for shoring, then it is the sole responsibility of the Contractor to engage the services of a qualified Engineer for shoring design services. This Section pertains to the provisions for the control of erosion in the construction area and in stockpile areas including seeding, and the construction of temporary swales as required and shown on the drawings. All areas where existing vegetation and grass cover have been bared by construction activities shall be protected from erosion. B. Contractor is responsible for meeting all local, state and federal regulations regarding erosion control including the applicable provisions of the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System, Phase II, regulations from the Clean Water Act.
