As of May 31, 2022, this project is in the conceptual phase. An architect has not been selected. A firm timeline for construction has not been determined. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: UNC Greensboro is seeking letters of interest from qualified professionals for the project entitled, Taylor Theater Infrastructure Renovation'. The Taylor Building was opened in 1967. Many of the building systems are original to the building and have exceeded their useful life. There have been several partial and limited renovations over the years, however, the building needs a comprehensive rehabilitation in order to extend the life of the building as well as meet the University's programmatic need. The Taylor Theatre Infrastructure Renovation Project will update the building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, and sprinkler systems. The interior space will focus on ADA access and ADA restrooms renovations with some architectural upgrades. Alternates are anticipated to address concerns with the aging tension grid and supporting structure, performance rigging and associated machinery and replacing the fire curtain. Challenges may include a carefully planned phasing of sequences that accommodate occupancy during construction. In order to offer architectural or engineering services in response to this solicitation, the proposer must be licensed in the State of North Carolina.
