As of October 19, 2022, a civil engineer has been selected and the project is in the final design stage. The project consists of the replacement of the existing corrugated metal pipe (CMP) culvert with a properly-designed concrete box culvert under Idalia Rd at the Arroyo de la Barranca. The existing CMP culvert structure under Idalia Road at the Arroyo de la Barranca was constructed in the late 1990's and erodes with each storm event and could fail in a similar manner as the crossing further northeast on Idalia Road. A replacement of this crossing is needed to protect this Idalia Road crossing from a complete failure during a severe rain event. A new box culvert and adjacent arroyo bank stabilization is expected to last well into the future and will be designed to accommodate fully anticipated developed flows and future widening of Idalia Rd. Replacement of the tributary crossing further northeast on Idalia Road was completed in June 2016. Project is included City of Rio Rancho FY 2023 - 2029 Budget CIP. Closed solicitation has been included below for reference. Pre-Proposal Conference. A pre-proposal conference will not be held for this solicitation. The City of Rio Rancho is requesting formal proposals for a consultant to provide design and plan development services for the Idalia Road Culvert Crossing at the Arroyo de la Barranca. This project is partially or wholly funded by Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) funds, and the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) therefore the City of Rio Rancho and the awarded contractor must comply with all Federal and State requirements. The City of Rio Rancho encourages Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), small/minority businesses, womens business enterprises, and labor surplus area firms to participate in this solicitation. All qualified Offerors shall receive consideration for contract(s) without regard to race, color, religion, sex national origin, age, marital status, being physically challenged, or on the basis of sexual preference. Proponents of this work shall be required to comply with the President Executive Order No. 11246 as amended. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
