Demolition, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Amherst, New Hampshire. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a educational facility; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
As of April 5, 2023, this project has been cancelled. A bond election held in March 2022 did not pass. Plans call to build a new elementary school to be constructed on the existing Wilkins School site on the Lower Wilkins Field. An exploratory committee has been formed to determine what should be done with Clark School if a new school is approved. Four options will, be considered they are : the building could be razed and converted into green space, the property could be sold for residential use, the property could be sold for commercial use or the property could be sold to the town or some type of foundation to use for community needs.
