The Work Shall Consist of Milling, Patching and Overlay, Reconstruction and New Construction. BASE BID: Approximate Quantities Shall Include 5,560-Square Yards of Asphalt Milling, 120-Tons of Pavement Leveling and Patching, 525-Tons of Superpave Asphaltic Concrete Wearing Course, and 0.41-Miles of Surface Preparation to Limits of Construction as Shown in Typical Sections. ALTERNATE BID NO. 1: Add Cypress Street: Approximate Quantities Shall Include 625-Square Yards of Asphalt Milling, 25-Tons of Pavement Leveling and Patching, 50-Tons of Superpave Asphaltic Concrete Wearing Course, and 0.05-Miles of Surface Preparation. Only the bids of Prime Contractors licensed under Louisiana ContractorOs Licensing Law under Chapter 24 of Title 37 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes will be considered for bids exceeding $50,000.00. Should the bid exceed $50,000.00, contractors desiring to bid shall hold license of proper classification under OHighway, Street, and Bridge ConstructionO in full force and effect at the time drawings, specifications, and forms are requested from the office of the Engineers. If a bid bond is used, it shall be written by a surety or insurance company currently on the U.S. Department of the Treasury Financial Management Service list of approved bonding companies, which is published annually in the Federal Register, or by a Louisiana domiciled insurance company with at least an OADO rating in the latest printing of the A.M. BestOs Key Rating Guide to write individual bonds up to 10% of policyholdersO surplus, as shown in the A.M. BestOs Key Rating Guide, or by an insurance company in good standing licensed to write bid bonds which is either domiciled in Louisiana or owned by Louisiana residents. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause (R.S. 38:2214.B). In accordance with R.S. 38:2212.B.(1), the provisions and requirements of this section and those stated in the bidding documents shall not be waived by any public entity.
