Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Working plans call for the construction of a 6,000-square-foot, one-story above grade office development; transportation facility; for site work for a nine-space sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The City of New Smyrna Beach is seeking interested Contractors to submit proposals for the construction of a new standalone Administration & Maintenance Facility. The City of New Smyrna Beach is soliciting Bids for the construction of a new standalone Administration and Maintenance Facility, including office space, conference room, breakrooms, restrooms, and an airfield vehicle storage bay, to be located on the New Smyrna Beach Municipal Airport's Northeast perimeter of the AOA, near the existing Traffic Control Tower and adjacent T-Hangars. The area consists of majority flat, open field with minimal trees and an adjacent shell drive. A portion of the shell drive will be improved leading to the facility and the AOA fence will be relocated to accommodate AOA access from the Facility, refer to the project bid documents. This facility will be comprised of an approximately 6,000 +/- square feet, single story building to serve as a base for airport management and maintenance staff. A new parking lot will be constructed for airport staff and guests of the airport, consisting of 8 parking spaces and 1 handicap parking space. A new generator located on the east side of the facility will be provided to accommodate the building and tie in the existing Fuel Farm on the airfield. The full scope of work is defined in the solicitation documents. Deadline for Written Questions: May 11, 2021, 5:00pm This project will be funded by a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) grant and local share. The award of this Contract will be contingent upon the concurrence of the FDOT. The bidder agrees to commence work within TEN (10) CALENDAR DAYS after the date of the Notice to Proceed letter, submit construction documents for permitting within FIFTEEN (15) CALENDAR DAYS after the date of the Notice to Proceed letter, and shall complete the work within TWO HUNDRED-FORTY DAYS (240) DAYS thereafter. The bidder further agrees to pay, as liquidated damages, the sum of ONE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED NINTY ($1,690.00) DOLLARS for each consecutive calendar day thereafter, until the work is completed or accepted. Said amount is agreed upon because the injury that the City of New Smyrna Beach ("Owner") may sustain by reason of contracting breach would be impossible to ascertain or estimate; such sum is agreed upon as liquidated damages and is intended as compensation for the injury suffered by the Owner, rather than as a penalty.
