Cost Estimate: $150,000 (Base Bid); $50,000 (Additional Bid) The work to be performed consists of interior painting, access hatch installation and ladder modifications and all required appurtenances. The project is located along Witherite Road in Spring Township, Centre County, PA. The successful bidder will be required to comply with Prevailing Minimum Wages in accordance with the PA Department of Labor & Industry Prevailing Minimum Wage Determination. Pre-Bid Date: N/A A certified check or bid bond payable to, or naming as obligee, the Spring Township Water Authority in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid must be deposited with the proposal as a guarantee that in the event the contract is awarded, the Bidder will execute the contract and furnish the bonds required. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for performance and payment bonds in the full amount of the contract price. All bonds shall be executed by sureties named in the current list, "Companies Holding Certificates of Authority as Acceptable Sureties in Federal Bonds and as Acceptable Reinsuring Companies" as published in Circular 570 (as amended) by the Audit Staff, Bureau of Government Financial Operations, U.S. Treasury Department and shall be acceptable to the Spring Township Water Authority. The Spring Township Water Authority reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals, to waive any informalities or bidding irregularities, and to award the contract as may be deemed by the Authority to be in their best interest. The Work will be substantially completed within 90 days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run as provided in Paragraph 2.3 of the General Conditions, and completed and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 14.13 of the General Conditions within 120 days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run The CONTRACTORS performance Bond or a separate Maintenance Bond shall be in force until after any remedial work is performed as part of the Second Anniversary Inspection. The Contractor shall, prior to submitting his proposal, visit the site of the Work for this Contract to familiarize himself with all the conditions which will affect the Work.
