Demolition, site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Barrie, Ontario. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for the construction of a one-story above grade municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.

Construction of the Barrie Operations Centre Redevelopment and Satellite Operations Facility Development including Waste Transfer Station. The project includes redevelopment of the existing Operations Centre site located at 165 Ferndale Drive, North in Barrie. The scope of work includes construction of a salt-storage shed with a pre-fabricated roof. Also included will be construction of a replacement building for the existing greenhouse, and construction of a Road storage building to house municipal equipment. The site works proposed will include landscaping and civil works and upkeep of infrastructure on the site. The IPD Project Team will be responsible for the provision of Validation Phase, Design/Pre-construction Phase, Construction Phase, close-out, and associated site, due diligence, and legislative requirements necessary for success of the project. TIMLEINE: Chandos Construction Ltd. and RDH Architects Inc. have been awarded the contract for Integrated Project Delivery (IPD). The scope includes completion of the Validation Phase, including Due diligence and environmental studies required to support and inform project decisions. Project implementation began fall 2023. The design is complete. Civil works and demolition on site began late 2023. Site preparation and excavation are underway. Construction is underway as of spring 2024. Sub trades will be awarded as needed from a pre-qualified list of trades. Part 2 is the new development for a South Satellite Operations Yard including Waste Transfer Station (site to be selected) is not expected to proceed in the next five years.
