The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners is soliciting Qualifications from firms for providing design and construction of Old Atlanta Road Phases 4 & 5. The engineer (design) is expected to become the Engineer of Record. The project consists of widening the existing two- lane road to four lanes, two lanes in each direction with twenty- foot wide raised medians, shoulders, and curb & gutter. The project also includes a five-foot sidewalk and a ten-foot multi-use trail from St. Marlo to James Burgess Road. The estimated length of the project is 3.1 miles. Only firms that have been prequalified with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) to perform this class of work should send qualifications, because GDOT prequalification is one of the prequalification criteria for this project. Include your GDOT qualification specification letter with response. The purpose of this Request for Qualifications is to identify firms that will be "reliable" bidders on a sensitive project. Firms that are determined as "prequalified" will then be invited to participate in the public Invitation to Bid for the construction of Old Atlanta Road Phases 4 & 5. (Bidders must be prequalified under this RFQ in order to bid for the project.) Forsyth County reserves the right to approve all personnel provided by the Contractor including, but not limited to, Project Managers, Project Superintendents and subcontractors for any portion of the work resulting from this prequalification process.
