Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Frankfort, Indiana. Completed plans call for the construction of a 28,104-square-foot, one-story above grade fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.
**As of August 3, 2021, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established.** The City of Frankfort, Indiana, by and through its Board of Public Works and Safety, will receive sealed bids for the construction of a new Police Station to be constructed at 1740 West State Road 28, Frankfort, Indiana. The Scope of Work shall include but not be limited to: The new Police Station is anticipated to be one-story and measure approximately 28,104 square feet. The structure shall be concrete masonry bearing walls, conventional steel, and light-frame metal construction. The exterior of the building shall have limestone and masonry veneer, aluminum composite metal panels, corrugated metal panels, TPO membrane, standing seam metal roofing materials, and unit skylights. The facility will have a 60-person lecture room, administration, investigation and patrol offices, and an exercise facility with locker and shower rooms. A crime lab with evidence processing and storage areas shall be located in proximity to eight (8) apparatus bays for fleet operations and maintenance which area will include a wash bay, car lift, and vehicle evidence bays. The facility will have a fully automatic fire sprinkler system and a natural gas generator. Project start date is expected to be July 1, 2021, or later, with completion no later than November 1, 2022. A Lump Sum Bid is requested for all work on this project and will include all general, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work. All bids must be accompanied by: (1) State Board of Accounts Form 96 (Contractor's Bid for Public Work Revised 2013) as prescribed by the Indiana Board of Accounts, including a financial statement, a statement of experience, a proposed plan for performing the work and the equipment the bidder has available for performing the work. (2) Bid Bond made payable to the City of Frankfort, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total Bid amount, including alternates, with a satisfactory corporate surety or by a certified check on a solvent bank made payable to the City of Frankfort in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total Bid amount. (3) An out-of-state bidder corporation must have a certificate of authority to do business in Indiana. Application forms may be obtained by contacting the Indiana Secretary of State, Statehouse, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204. (4) Completed Bid Form document located on page 00 41 13 of the specifications. The City of Frankfort reserves the right to accept or reject any bid, in whole or in part, and to waive any irregularities in bidding. The successful bidder will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds for one hundred (100%) of the Contract amount prior to execution of the Contract.
