The Project includes but is not limited to the following Work: o Removal of the existing 300T (wet weight 20,000#) chiller and replacement with a new 300T (nominal) (20,000# lifted weight) and related electrical power, electrical controls, and piping disconnections and reconnections. o Field modifications of the existing screen wall decorative steel to create lifting access for the chiller replacement, including preparation protection of existing EPDM roof, preparation to lift the screen wall, store and protect it on site, and subsequent reattachment and field painting. o Crane rental, staging and road closure for the duration of the lifting processes, including a lifting and work sequence submittal. o Start up and testing of the chiller during appropriate warm weather, regardless of when the chiller is lifted and installed. o An alternate bid for a competing chiller option, including delegated design of field modifications to the supporting chiller support framing. o Substantial completion of 31 March 2022 and final completion of 30 June 2022. All Bids are to be submitted on the basis of cash payment for the Work, on a Bid Form furnished by the Engineer in a securely sealed Bidding envelope prepared as outlined in the Instruction to Bidders contained within the Project Manual. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a separate envelope containing a Bidder's Bond, payable to Grand Forks County, in a sum equal to five percent (5%) of the full amount of the Bid, executed by the Bidder as principal and by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of North Dakota, conditioned that if the principal's Bid be accepted and the contract awarded within ten (10) days after Notice of Award, will execute and effect a Contract in accordance with the terms of his Bid and a Contractor's Bond as required by the laws of the State of North Dakota and the regulations and determinations of Grand Forks County, North Dakota. Each bid shall contain a copy of the license or certificate of renewal thereof issued by the Secretary of State enclosed in the required bid bond envelope. All Bidders must be licensed for the highest amount of their Bid, as provided by Section 43-07-05 of the North Dakota Century Code. Cost of preparation of Bids shall be borne by the Bidder. Contracts shall be awarded on the basis of the lowest and best Bid submitted by a responsible and responsive Bidder deemed most favorable to the County's interest. No Bid will be read or considered which does not fully comply with the Bid preparation requirements. Any deficient Bid submitted will be returned to the Bidder unopened. Grand Forks County reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive any informality in any Bid, and to hold all Bids for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of opening Bids. All Work shall be done according to the Bidding Documents. The Bidding Documents are available in the form of printed plans and specifications by request from AE2S, 1815 Schafer St. Suite 301, Bismarck, ND for a NON-REFUNDABLE charge of One Hundred Dollars and No Cents ($100.00) for each set of Plans and Specifications requested.
