Renovation of a library in Bohemia, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.

BBS FILE No.: 20-302 The Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder or the proposals will be rejected within 45 days of the date of opening proposals. Bids shall be subject, however, to the discretionary right reserved by the Library Board of Trustees to waive any informalities in, accept or reject any alternatives, reject any proposals and to advertise for new proposals, if in its opinion the best interest of the Connetquot Public Library will thereby be promoted. A 5% Bid Security is required as detailed and in full compliance with Paragraph 10 of the Instructions to Bidders Section of the Project Manual. Each bidder is required to submit, with its bid, proof of its ability to obtain the insurance coverage(s) required herein, in the form of a letter, without qualifications, from a N.Y.S. licensed insurance broker (or other proof reasonably satisfactory to the Library) stating that bidder is capable of obtaining the required coverage(s) upon award. Each bidder may not withdraw his bid within 45 days after the formal opening thereof. A bidder may withdraw his bid only in writing and prior to the bid opening date. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting uncertainty with regard to when the Owners building will be in operation during 2021-2022, the restrictions, if any, applicable to construction activities in the Owners facilities as a result of State, Federal or Local orders, laws, regulations or rules related to the COVID-19 pandemic (including but not limited to prevention measures of social distancing and disinfecting), and the duration of any such restrictions, the Owner may modify the construction schedule, including the anticipated start date, set forth in the Contract/Bid Documents. By submitting a bid, the Bidder consents to any such schedule modification and further acknowledges and agrees that there shall be no additional compensation for schedule modifications caused directly or indirectly by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Bidder further acknowledges and agrees that the sole remedy for any schedule modifications or delays caused directly or indirectly by the COVID-19 pandemic shall be an extension of time, to be determined in the sole discretion of the Owner.
