This project consists of the removal of two structural brick columns and stucco column wraps, and installation of new structural steel columns and composite fiberglass column wraps and new stucco coating. The work also includes incidental flashings, painting, and other associated repair and refinishing work associated with the column remediation, and as indicated in the Contract Documents. There is one alternate, to remove the stucco from the center four columns, repair/repoint the brick structural columns, and provide new fiberglass column wraps and new stucco coating. Shoring of portico and construction of a temporary access tunnel for the public entrance is also part of the project. Bids received after the announced time and date for submittal, whether by mail or otherwise, will be rejected. Bidders are responsible for ensuring their Bid is received before the deadline indicated. Bids submitted by telephone, telegraph, email, text message, or facsimile shall not be accepted. Based upon a Notice to Proceed within 30 calendar days from the opening of the bid, Work included in this Contract shall be Substantially Complete no later than 120 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed, and finally complete no later than 30 calendar days thereafter. Liquidated Damages (refer to General Conditions for additional information): $500.00 per calendar day. Pre-Bid Questions may be submitted online via electronically. Each Bid shall be accompanied by the following bid security:bid security in the form of either a cashier's or certified check or an acceptable Bid Bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid amount, and made payable to the Bath County. The bid security is a guarantee that if the Contract is awarded by the Owner to the Bidder, the Bidder shall enter into the Contract with the Owner for the Work mentioned in this Bid or forfeit the bid security to the Owner, not as a penalty, but as liquidated damages.
