New construction of a playground / park / athletic field in Aurora, Illinois. Working plans call for the construction of a 1,500-square-foot playground / park / athletic field.

As of Sept 7 the project was cancelled. the Owner has decided to rebid it completely with the revised scope in this solicitation. The original solicitation is included below: The proposed work consists of a new restroom and concessions facility, approximately 1,500 square feet, at the corner of River Street and Vine Street. The planned spaces include toilet spaces, concessions and general storage areas. The roof of the facility will incorporate a roof observation area which will align with the upper grade. A separate, independent bid package for site work will be issued by the Owner. This bid is for the facility only, not the site work. please respond with all proposals by no later than 5:00 PM on Tuesday 6/1/21 There is no pre-bid meeting planned for this project. Questions regarding the bids are to be sent to the Director of Purchasing at PurchasingDL@aurora.il.us. All questions must be submitted in writing via e-mail by 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 25, 2021. Questions will be answered via bid addendum and posted to the City's website by 12:00 p.m., Thursday, May 27, 2021. NO questions will be accepted or answered verbally. No questions will be accepted or answered after Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 8:00 a.m. cut-off date/time. The City of Aurora encourages minority business firms to submit bids and encourages the successful firm to utilize minority businesses as applicable. Any Bidder who owes the City money may be disqualified at the City's discretion. Sufficient proof of liability and workmen's compensation insurance must be furnished to satisfy requirements of the City of Aurora. When required by State Law, please be advised that all Bids must comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act and the Prevailing Rate of Hourly Wages in the City of Aurora where the Work is to be performed is to be paid to all persons on the project. The successful respondent shall comply with all codes, ordinances, rules, statutes, laws and regulations of the City of Aurora, State of Illinois as they apply to all Public Works construction projects. The City of Aurora reserves the right at any time and for any reason to cancel this Invitation to Bid, to accept or reject any or all Bids or portion thereof, or accept an alternate bid. The City reserves the right to waive any immaterial defect in any bid, or technicality, informality or irregularity in the bids received, and to disregard all nonconforming or conditional bids or counter-proposals. Unless otherwise specified by the bidder or the City, the City reserves the right to hold the best bids for ninety (90) days from the opening date set forth above. The City may seek clarification from any bidder at any time and failure to respond promptly is cause for rejection. The City further reserves the right to award the bid to the lowest responsible Bidder whose offer best responds in quality, fitness and capacity to the requirements of the proposed work or usage and therefore is in the best interest of the City.
