Site work and paving for a civil project in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Conceptual plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; and road / highway.
This project is for the reconstruction and/or rehabilitation of Randolph Avenue retaining walls, approach roadway and Bridge No. 7272 over the Union Pacific Railroad. The existing 3-span steel beam bridge is 167 feet long and was built in 1959. One half of the bridge was repurposed in 2000 to carry a shared-use trail. The vehicular portion of the deck provides dead-end road access to numerous businesses, the Xcel Energy power generating plant, and the High Bridge Dog Park. Structural deficiencies have required past repairs, and the bridge is currently load posted. The bridge has a sufficiency rating of 48.2 out of 100. Project is included City of Saint Paul's FY 2022-2027 CIP. As of April 23, 2025, per owner, a consultant will be selected sometime this year. It is planned for construction in 2029-2030. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
