Renovation of a recreation facility in Cokato, Minnesota. Completed plans call for the renovation of a recreation facility.
Project Scope: Revision to existing metal building to meet occupancy for indoor fieldhouse use by the District. Work includes adding a new restrooms, mechanical room, plumbing work, HVAC, concrete floor, and installation of refrigeration piping for future ice rink under new concrete floor added by this project and other Work indicated in the drawings and specifications. The Dassel Cokato Regional Ice and Sports Center (DCRISC) are proposing to complete the next stage of the construction of the Dassel Cokato Ice Arena (Ice Arena). The building pad and shell were constructed several years ago but the ice rink was not completed at that time. We understand that the building pad preparation included removing the surficial vegetation, topsoil and any soft or otherwise unsuitable soil and replacing them with suitable compacted engineered fill. The compaction tests and associated documents performed during the building pad preparation were not available. Underground plumbing and electrical utilities have been installed during a previous construction phase. This phase of the project will include constructing the lobby/entryway, concessions area, locker rooms, rest rooms, mechanical rooms and bleachers. We understand that the ice rink will also be installed but the cooling/heating system will not be installed during this phase of the ice arena project. Constructing the above mentioned amenities will require installing interior column footings, strip footings, concrete slabs, and partition walls.
