Renovation of a municipal facility in Glendale, Arizona. Design plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

As of May 6, 2022, an architect has been selected for the project. The project has been put on hold and is expected to resume in fall of 2022. A firm timeline for construction has not been disclosed. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City of Glendale is seeking a qualified architectural firm to provide programming, design, preliminary cost estimating, permit approvals, and construction administration services for a new Field Operations Staff Building. Overall project budget is approximately $11M and includes the cost for design, construction, FF&E, information technologies, security, and access control systems. The proposed Field Staff building will be sited in the northwest corner of the Glendale Operations Campus, located at 6210 W. Myrtle Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85301. Staff from several City departments will be housed in the building: Solid Waste, Water Services, Engineering, Code Compliance, Building Safety, Field Operations, Transportation, Public Facilities, Recreation and Special Events. Approximately 10 acres are planned for the Field Staff Building, including parking. The designated property is Mixed Use (A-3, S, B), nonseparated occupancies and the type of construction will be IIB, single-story, all sprinklered. Building size is anticipated to be 30,000 sq. ft., however, could change dependent on the final programming. Two new ingress/egress points from Orangewood Avenue will be required to accommodate access to the new building's parking lot. The parking lot will be for staff and City vehicles, which includes small, medium, and large vehicles (e.g. garbage trucks, front loaders, sweepers, etc.). An existing modular office building will be removed or demolished after the new staff building is completed. The selected Architectural firm (Consultant) will work closely with various City departments, including Engineering and Facilities Management, Development Services, and others, as needed, during the design and construction phases of the project. The City will utilize the services of the Consultant for the programming, design, construction cost estimating and construction administration. The Consultant will make Council presentations and conduct public meetings and other related public involvement activities, if requested.
