Coordinate all work with Owner and Engineer. Contractor shall protect and utilize techniques to prevent damage to existing site facilities scheduled to remain. Install erosion control devices prior to beginning construction activities. Reclaim existing bituminous pavement and underlying soils in the west central parking lot and the staff parking lot to a depth of 8 inches. Grade and compact reclaimed bituminous/aggregate base material to provide positive surface drainage and maximize reuse of reclaimed material. Schedule and perform proof-roll of prepared base in the presence of the Engineer. Where required by the Engineer, perform subgrade corrections by excavating and hauling away existing soils and replacing with compacted reclaimed bituminous/aggregate base. Remove excess reclaimed material from the site. Install new subdrainage pipe systems in locations shown on the Drawings. Remove and replace damaged sections of concrete curb and gutter marked in the field by the Engineer. Place new bituminous pavement over prepared base in the west central parking lot and the staff parking lot. Construct four (4) speed humps in the west drive. Review location with Owner and Engineer prior to construction. Stripe parking lots and speed humps as shown. The following quantities should be bid as specified. If the quantities increase or decrease during the construction process, the unit prices provided will be used to adjust the Contract amount. Subgrade corrections (compacted volume): 1,500 cubic yards.
