BID NOTICE Notice is hereby given that the City of Harlingen, Texas will receive competitive, sealed bids for BID NO. 2021-09 HARLINGEN HUMANE SOCIETY PARKING LOT PROJECT Bid/Contract documents may be obtained at the Purchasing Office, (956) 216-5316, during regular business hours or may be emailed upon request to Purchasing@myharlingen.us. Bids must be submitted on or before 2:00 p.m.,Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the Purchasing Office located at 404 South 54th Street, Harlingen, TX. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud via video and telephone conferencing at 2:30 p.m., on Thursday, May 27, 2021. Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend a pre-bid meeting at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 18, 2021 via video and telephone conferencing. All plan holders will receive email instruction on how to attend the pre-bid conference and bid opening via video conference a day prior to the meetings. A bid bond in the amount equal to 5% of the bid must be submitted with each bid. Federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and related Acts) wage rate, as issued by Department of Labor must be paid on this project. The successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other classification protected under the law. Contractors & subcontractors will be required to comply with the provisions of the E-Verify Federal Contractor Rule. The City of Harlingen reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any formalities or informalities in the bidding and to award the contract to the Bidder which it considers has submitted the best and most advantageous bid. Bids may be held for a period not to exceed sixty (60) calendar days from the date of the bid opening. All contractors/subcontractors that are debarred, suspended or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this project.
