Renovation of a residential development in Lafayette, Louisiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
This project is funded in part under the Capital Fund Program of the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development. The general scope of work for this project includes hurricane damaged roof replacement and associated work at most all buildings at the Macon Road Housing Development of the Housing Authority. The work will be bid in a Base Bid and Additive Alternate Bids. Contractors desiring to bid on this project shall attend the Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting noted below, and shall obtain a paper copy of the plans and specifications from the Architect to facilitate dissemination of Addenda and other pertinent information to bidders. Attention is called to the insurance requirements and to the provisions for equal employment opportunity, and payment of not less than the minimum wages that must be paid on this project, as noted in the Specifications. EMPLOYMENT OF FEMALE AND/OR MINORITY INDIVIDUALS AND SUB-CONTRACTORS: The attention of the Contractor(s) proposing to submit a bid on this project is expressly called to the interest and desire of the Housing Authority, that female and minority individuals, particularly those residing in or near the housing developments of the Authority, be given preference for positions of new employment. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check equal to at least five percent (5%) of the amount bid for the Base Bid and made payable without condition to the Owner as a guarantee that the bidder, if awarded the contract, will promptly enter into a contract for the project. The form of this security shall be as stated in the Instructions to Bidders included in the Bid Documents for this project. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond written as described in the Instructions to Bidders included in the Bid Documents for this project. Bids shall be accepted from Contractors who are licensed under LA. R.S. 37:2150-2192 for the classification of Building Construction. Bidder is required to comply with provisions and requirements of LA R.S. 38:2212(B)(5). No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after receipt of bids, except under the provisions of LA. R.S. 38:2214. Any contractor and/or sub-contractor whose bid exceeds $50,000.00 shall be licensed in accordance with current statutes of Louisiana Law. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause. In accordance with La. R.S. 38:2212(B)(1), the provisions and requirements of this Section; and those stated in the bidding documents shall not be waived by any entity. Plans and specifications and related contract documents are on file at the office of the Housing Authority Section 8 Office at 100 C. O. Circle. Lafayette, LA, and the office of Firmin + Laiche Architects, Ltd, 530 Third Street, P.O. Box 972, Morgan City, Louisiana, (985/384-3094) and are open for inspection at each of these offices without charge. The general scope of work for this project includes hurricane damaged roof replacement and associated work at most all buildings at the Macon Road Housing Development of the Housing Authority. The work will be bid in a Base Bid and Additive Alternate Bids. This project entails the hurricane damaged roof replacement and associated work at 38 buildings at the Macon Road Housing Development of the Housing Authority. The work will be bid in a Base Bid and two Additive Alternate Bids as noted below. The general scope of work for this project is generally included in the Schedule of Quantities outlined on Sheet A-3 of the drawings which designates the Scope of Roof Replacement Work for each apartment building at the development. The apartments to receive re-roofing are located on all four streets at this development; Adelma St, Boulet Dr, Connie Circle, and Kelly Dr.
