The purpose and intent of the Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit proposals from qualified firms for the Replacement of Flooring at Durham County North Regional Library, East Regional Library, and Cooperative Extension The County reserves the right to accept or reject, in whole or in part, such proposals as appears in its judgment to be in the best interest of the County. Overall MWBE Participation Goal = 25.0% Location I: North Regional Library: o Remove and dispose of existing carpet and cove base throughout (approximately 17,000sf). o Remove and dispose of existing vinyl flooring throughout (approximately 1,750sf). o Install new 24"x24" commercial grade carpet squares in previously carpeted areas. o Preferred Carpet tile shall be SHAW No. 54872. o Alternate carpet tile will be acceptable so long as it is like in texture and meets or exceeds the performance criteria of SHAW No. 54872 o Utilize SHAW D5000 adhesive or equal. o The awarded Contractor shall coordinate color with Designated County Representative. ocation II: East Regional Library: o Remove and dispose of existing carpet and cove base throughout (approximately 17,000sf). o Remove and dispose of existing vinyl flooring throughout (approximately 1,750sf). o Install new 24"x24" commercial grade carpet squares in previously carpeted areas. o Preferred Carpet tile shall be SHAW No. 54872. o Alternate carpet tile will be acceptable so long as it is like in texture and meets or exceeds the performance criteria of SHAW No. 54872 o Utilize SHAW D5000 adhesive or equal. o The awarded Contractor shall coordinate color with Designated County Representative. o Install new luxury vinyl planking (LVP) in areas previously covered by vinyl flooring. o Preferred LVP shall be SHAW No. 0234v o Alternate LVP will be acceptable so long as it is like in texture and meets or exceeds the performance criteria of SHAW No. 0234v. o Utilize SHAW 212VS adhesive or equal. Location III: Cooperative Extension: * Note: installation is required to be in 3 separate phases at this location. o Remove and dispose of existing carpet and cove base throughout (approximately 9,000sf). o Remove and dispose of existing vinyl flooring throughout (approximately 2,100sf). o Install new 24"x24" commercial grade carpet squares in previously carpeted areas. o Preferred Carpet tile shall be SHAW No. 54872. o Alternate carpet tile will be acceptable so long as it is like in texture and meets or exceeds the performance criteria of SHAW No. 54872 o Utilize SHAW D5000 adhesive or equal. o The awarded Contractor shall coordinate color with Designated County Representative.
