Site work and renovation of a water / sewer project in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

MAJOR ITEMS OF WORK for this project shall include two divisions. Division VIII work shall include the renovation of the existing generator shed and backup power system to accommodate automatic switchover to backup power when utility power is unavailable. Contractor to furnish and install all electrical equipment, mechanical equipment, structural equipment, and civil equipment as shown per plans and specifications for a complete and working system per the contract documents. Division IV work shall include the upgrade of the controls systems at the existing Southwest and 6th Avenue Pumping Stations. Contractor to furnish and install all new controls, field wiring, and field devices as shown per plans and specifications for a complete working system per the contract documents The work under the proposed contract shall be completed as detailed in the Instructions to Bidders. All work required to achieve Substantial Completion is to be completed before July 1, 2022. All work is to be completed on or before August 1, 2022. Work is to commence within 10 calendar days from the date the Notice to Proceed is issued. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a certified check, bid bond by a surety company registered to do business in the State of Iowa, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price and made payable to the City of Council Bluffs. A copy of the certified check, bid bond, or share draft is to be uploaded in the assigned requested attachments area. If a company who has a check is awarded the bid, the City will request the physical check at that time. The certified check or share draft will be returned to the successful bidder once the agreement has been executed. Letters of credit and company or personal checks are not acceptable substitutes for a bid bond and will be cause for rejection of bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory performance and payment bonds in the amount of one-hundred percent (100%) of the total bid price, a certificate of insurance and a certificate of equal employment opportunity and comply with minimum wage provisions as established by the U.S. Department of Labor. The City of Council Bluffs reserves the right to reject or accept any or all bids and waive any irregularities in the interest of the City.
