Demolition and site work for a bridge / tunnel in Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, Quebec. Conceptual plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel.
Demolition and reconstruction of the multipurpose pedestrian and cycle bridge under municipal jurisdiction P-15113 over Autoroute 35 in the axis of Boulevard de Normandie including the addition of approaches. TIMELINE: The completed design has shown that the project value should be increased up to $25-$35M including $21M for the bridge itself and other amounts for related infrastructure. The owner considers the project too expensive for the current budgetary context and decided to look for a less expensive construction option that may include the construction of a prefabricated bridge. The initial version of the project has been canceled and will not proceed. Coverage of this report has been discontinued. Note. The demolition of the existing bridge that is at the end of its useful life is planned for summer/fall period of 2024.
