Site work and new construction of a clubhouse / community center in Battleboro, North Carolina. Working plans call for site work for a clubhouse / community center; and for the construction of a clubhouse / community center.

As of May 25, 2022 the project is still on hold with no plans to rebid as of right now. The Battleboro Community Center project consists of a new 1,252 square foot community building. Construction includes but is not limited to wood framed structure, wood trusses, exterior siding, Asphalt shingles, casework, painting, flooring, and ceilings. Associated plumbing, mechanical, and electrical work is included. Bids will be received for Single Prime Contracts. All proposals shall be a lump sum. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a cash deposit or a certified check drawn on some bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, of an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the proposal or in lieu thereof a bidder may offer a bid bond of five percent (5%) of the bid executed by a surety company licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute such bonds, conditioned that the surety will, upon demand forthwith make payment to the obligee upon said bond if the bidder fails to execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond. Said deposit shall be retained by the Owner as liquidated damages in the event of failure of the successful bidder to execute the contract within ten days after the award or to give satisfactory surety as required by law. A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond will be required for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Payment - The amount retained shall be 10% of the value of work until 50% of the work has been completed. At 50% completion, further partial payments shall be made in full to the Contractor. No additional amounts may be retained unless the Architect certifies that the work is not proceeding satisfactorily but amounts previously retained shall not be paid to the Contractor. At 50% completion or any time thereafter when the progress of the work is not satisfactory, additional amounts may be retained, but in no event shall the total retainage be more than 10% of the value of work completed. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of 120 days. The City of Rocky Mount reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities. The City of Rocky Mount will not discriminate against any bidder submitting a bid because of race, creed, color, national origin, or handicap.
