Queen's University requires the services of a supplier to provide remote monitoring of fire alarm panels for buildings located on Main Campus, West Campus and off-campus locations. - Supplier must be a ULC-approved monitoring station under CAN/ULC-S561 - Supplier's installation staff must be Technicians certified by CFAA (Canadian Fire Alarm Association). - Technicians performing annual inspections must be certified by CFAA. - Technicians performing service calls must be certified by CFAA. Fire Monitoring and Inspection Services included but not limited to: - Provide emergency notification in accordance with ULC-S561 - Supplier to respond to emergency service calls within three hours and standard service calls within one business day. - Standard service calls to be scheduled between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm, Monday through Friday. Service technician to check in and out with Emergency Report Centre as well as Facilities Client Services. - Supplier to perform annual testing and inspection of monitoring equipment installed for each site that is compliant with ULC-S561. Currently performed in the fall with inspection reports being submitted upon completion. Technician performing annual testing will dedicate full days on campus until complete or on a schedule agreed upon ahead of time. If new equipment must be installed by the Supplier to perform this service: Installation of Start Up Services included but not limited to: NOTE: Queen 's owns all monitoring boxes - Supplier to supply monitoring panel and identify power and communications requirements to support the monitoring panel. Other suppliers responsible for power and communications installation for final connections by supplier. Co-ordination between supplier and Queen's will vary as per project requirements. - Supplier may be required to complete hardware installation if system compatibility changes are required - Supplier will provide all labour, materials, equipment and supervision required to establish remote monitoring with minimal interruption to monitoring services. Supplier to implement alternate monitoring measures acceptable to AHJ (authority having jurisdiction) during any interruption. - Remote monitoring to include Non-Direct (analog phone line with extension) and Internet Protocol (Ethernet). Majority of Queen's installations are analog phone line (mix of direct dial and non-direct dial phone numbers) and Ethernet connection. Requires two forms of communication. coverage. Ongoing Maintenance includes but not limited to: - Program new Internet Protocol (IP) addresses when identified by Queen's - Trouble shoot and correct communication faults - Repair or replace failed parts as required TIMELINE: Start date: September 1, 2021 Projected End date: August 31, 2024 With an option to extend 2 additional periods of 3 years each. *Award amount was not released for publication.
